Essay:Corruption-A Necessary Social Evil

The omnipresence of corruption, spreading its poison in almost every single country in the world consistently disturbs the delicate yet complex fiber – socio-economic –politico of the society. As expected, developing countries suffer more from corruption than developed countries displaying the degree of vulnerability of its sections ranging from government, its policy issues to infrastructure and developmental issues.

Foremost among them is the close nexus between the administration and the bureaucracy whose self-aggrandizement and covetousness slows down the various development and welfare measures. Moreover, over centralization makes it difficult to access the basic services and amenities which state is obliged to give its citizens.

At the same time, to break the backbone of the nexus government proactively moving towards the e-governance to enhance the requisite accountability and transparency of the system to its citizens. Additionally, by enacting various people centric laws like RTI, Right to time bound of delivery, DBT etc government is sending strong signals to various echelons that it is public interest, which should take precedence over all other matters including personal.

Thus, one can say that along with progressive decentralization equal importance should be given in making behavior among public officials to make them people friendly. Moreover, corruption has its own motivations, and one has to thoroughly study that phenomenon and eliminate the foundations that allow corruption to exist. Most importantly, it is the duty of every citizen to effectively and efficiently utilize the weapons given by the government to completely weed out the corruption from the social, economic and political sphere of the society.

  • Apart from objective test candidate will have to clear the subjective test also(which only going to be check if one is able to clear the cutoff).
  •  There will be negative marks for wrong answer in objective test;1/4th of the allotted marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • In Specialist stream, an additional test to assess technical& professional knowledge in the relevant discipline.
So How is the NICL Exam is going to be???????

4  Test of Numerical Ability &Computer Literacy   Objective25
5  Test in English language comprising of:
 Essay, Precis & Comprehension
Descriptive50

 TOTAL (Aggregate)

Reasoning:

More or less it is going to be of like the pattern followed in SSC  Tier(1) resoning which is  mainly consist of :
  1. Analogy (both word based and numerical).
  2. Odd pair (both word based and numerical).
  3. Box containing some number, you’ve to find missing number.
  4. Ranking, missing characters etc.
  5. Typical coding decoding (PEAR written as GFDN then REAP is written as..).
  6. Sitting arrangement (line, table and circular).
  7. Blood relations (mom-dad-father in law).
  8. Direction based (Mohan moves three kms north…how far he is from home).
  9. Assumption, interference, conclusion etc.
  10. Clock, calendar.
  11. Age related problems (Mom is 22 older than..).
  12. Cubes-dices: predicting color, numbers in other faces.

English Language

Since  Comprehension is going to be part of the Descriptive paper ,so one can expect more or less grammatical type of questions possibly consisting of:
  1. Antonym/Synonym
  2. Idioms
  3. Spelling Correction
  4. Fill In Blanks
  5. Sentence Correction
  6. Sentence Improvement
  7. Sentence Arrangement/Jumble up sentences

General Awareness

Being a insurance domain paper one can expect good number of questions relating to insurance sector while embracing oneself in past three to four months developments in various domains.
like:
  1. Which authority act as Regulatory for Indian Insurance sector??
  2. Which government scheme is act as source of contention between SEBI and IRDA?
  3. Currently how much FDI is allowed in Insurance sector?
  4.  Various measures adopted by RBI to curb Rupee volatility?
One can go through the August Current Affairs Part I ; Part II. and Part III

Test of Numerical Ability &Computer Literacy

For Computer Awareness one can rely on the basic questions asked in the various competitive exams like IBPS and SBI PO ,In my view they are more than sufficient for the exam point of view (will going to update same in separate thread )
  1. Database  Management
  2. Hardware
  3. Internet/Networking
  4. Ms-Office
  5. OS/Software Basics etc

English language comprising of: Essay, Precis & Comprehension

As the name suggest aspirant will get one passage along with a Precis ,for essay one can emphasized upon  current social issues like on Women safety ,Gender Discrimination,Global warming, corruption etc

As this is the first time that NICL going to conduct exam for the the four public sector Insurance companies so its really difficult to predict the exact pattern of the exam, but based on the previous years papers and some stray knowledge collected from various sources available on the internet,I have tried to predict the pattern of the Exam, hopefully it will help the aspirants.
